We will be on the Silhouette from 30th July. Does anyone know if the Olympic Games will be shown onboard?

I was on the Infinity in Alaska during the Beijing Olympics in 2008. There was only very limited coverage, news reports rather than events.

 

We'll be on the Silhouette on July 30 as well. I doubt we'll be able to see much of the games.

Sorry I can't answer your question but I would be devastated to miss the Olympics. I love cruising but would really struggle with being on a cruise and not being able to watch the games.

NBC is really strict on showing events, so unless they show some events on CNBC, you most likely won't see much. I doubt Celebrity would want to pay a huge sum for the broadcast rights.

What a shame... when the Olympics came to Atlanta,GA.USA most folks left town too... and what an event they missed. All the hype about traffic and crowds was just that Hype...

 

We had a blast...it was a great time to welcome the world to our door..!

Really hope that we have the same experience here in the UK. Some people are just so critical and defeatist about it. We have changed our usual holiday plans so we can enjoy having the Olympics here in London.

 

Sadly we weren't able to get any tickets though :(.

We tried for London 2012 tickets and thought if we were unlucky we'd cruise instead AFTER the games finish, but we were lucky so have Olympics to look forward to this Summer and Norwegian Cruise Summer 2013.:):)
