Athens and Ledra Marriott Hotel

We booked he Ledra Hotel for 2 nights post cruise. Has anyone stayed there... and recommendations on what to do in that area. Thanks! Gladys

Ledra Marriot is an OK hotel. It was cheap. The rooms had a "smoked in" smell. It is really not that convenient to sights, Acropolis, Plaka, etc. However, the rooftop pool and bar are outstanding with a great view of the Acropolis.

Hi!! We are paying E$120 per night ... I read that they have a shuttle service that takes you to Plaka... that is primarily what we want to do as well as going to the Acropolis. When were you there?

I just checked and you could stay at the Athens Gate hotel, which is very nice -- modern, up-to-date, great views and terrific location -- for 150 euro per night. If it were me, I'd rather be there for the extra 30 euro....
