Sheraton Miami Airport hotel

Can anybody tell about this hotel?

 

Received it on a bid Dec 20,21/12 for $100/night.

 

We will be arriving on Dec 20 around 5:30pm.

 

Is there places to eat around there?

 

Would we need a car for the next day to do anything?

 

A taxi from the hotel to the Port, what would the cost be?

I would appretiate any info on this hotel as well. I will be travelling solo and want to make sure it is "safe" and easy to navigate. I am not arriving until 10pm, so was planning on a taxi both ways and to the port.

We stayed there for two days this past January and liked it very much. We were actually impressed with it and are planning to return there for 2 nights in Jan 2013. I would not hesitate to stay there as a solo traveler either. If you go to the Tripadvisor.com website and enter the Shearton Miami hotel name in the search field you will be able to read many reviews. I wrote a Review entitled "No Complaints Here" and attached photos, it's dated on January 21st. Since we were taking a Flight out of Miami and not a cruise I can't help with the cost of taxi to Port but there is a lot of info in all the reviews.
