sharecruises Posted May 7, 2012 #51 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Thanks for a great review :) That is a shame that smokers were breaking the rules cause they are NOT supposed to smoke in the Punchliner on any of the ships and on Liberty they are not even supposed to smoke on the Lido! It is too bad you didn't know that and try to get some worker to do something, but good luck lots of them don't want to rock the boat so to speak, too concerned about their tips I am excited to see the 2.0 changes *I will be on Glory for a short post 2.0 cruise in Nov. I love looking at all your great pics, especially those yummy looking burgers <grin> Thanks for all your hard work

hygienist999 Posted May 8, 2012 Author #55 Share Posted May 8, 2012 Ok, I'm back. Hopefully I can get some photo's up for everyone. We went to Deck 3 and went to the outside deck area and this is where we watched as we sailed away from San Juan. This is a perfect area to read also. There aren't many chairs, but there was always some empty. Very quiet area and you can see the ocean. After showering and getting dressed for the evening, I had to drag my husband to all of the photo opportunities. Then we went to the Silver Dining room for dinner. Again, the food was very good. Here are a few photo's of the food. The waiters put on a show again tonight. Here is a photo of me with some our servers.
jjtimes6 Posted May 8, 2012 #56 Share Posted May 8, 2012 There were people smoking in the Punchline when we were in there watching the comedian. I had to move. People were smoking at tables in all outdoor areas. In every chair we laid in on deck the people next to us were smoking. The casino was full of smoke. Maybe we just had a lot of people on this cruise that smoked. We never could get away from it. Great review! A funny thing, the smokers. We just came off a B2B on the Liberty (we got off the day you got on!) and I was surprised at how little smoking I saw, both cruises! I think it must have been a cruise full of smokers for you? Weird.

We just came off a B2B on the Liberty (we got off the day you got on!) and I was surprised at how little smoking I saw, both cruises! I think it must have been a cruise full of smokers for you? Weird. I know!! It is amazing how each cruise can be different. We were watching something on the Lido deck, and this blonde women turned her head and blew smoke right in my face. So, I coughed right in her face. lol. It was crazy. In the punchliner club, we were standing up at the back in front of the bar, and off to the side were a couple of women smoking. I didn't see anyone say anything to them. They were holding an ashtray. And, Balloon Man, I did see you making the balloon figures. I thought they were absolutely fabulous. I didn't have my camera at the time. I should have come back and took some photo's. You need to post some photo's yourself.

hygienist999 Posted May 8, 2012 Author #60 Share Posted May 8, 2012 After dinner we went to the Venetian Palace Theatre to watch the trivia shows. This was the first day we went to watch the trivia. There wasn't anything else going on, so we thought we would check it out. I so hate we didn't go to every trivia game they had. It was HILARIOUS!!! So much better than the big production shows. I highly recommend seeing the trivia shows. 80's Name that Song - Venetian Palace. It was so funny After the game, we played 80's balloon bingo. We did not win. Boo Then we watched the Game Show Mania. We stayed in the Venetian Palace a long time. Afterward we went to Deck 5 mid at Czar's Casino and watched the "Thriller" dance class. This was hosted by Christian the assistant CD and Jamie the CD. It was pretty cool. We strayed into the Victoria Lounge to watch a little bit of the Karaoke. I couldn't handle much of it. We left after about 20 minutes. We were killing time anyway. Waiting for the Blueiguana's Mexican Fiesta on Lido Deck. The guy that sings out on the lido deck. Again the Carnival Photographers were making their rounds.
hygienist999 Posted May 8, 2012 Author #61 Share Posted May 8, 2012 After the deck party we made our usual trip to the lemonade stand and then back to the room. "Big donin's going on" the next day at Grand Turk. I really didn't know what to expect as I had heard so many negative things. But, it was a big surprise. Day Six - Grand Turk After breakfast we watched as we arrived into the port of Grand Turk. We made our way to Deck 3. Here's our photo as we got off the ship. parrothead74 Posted May 8, 2012 #62 Share Posted May 8, 2012 What a good sport your husband is to have the photographers take so many pictures of you two. I usually take the one when you get on board, one on formal night, and the ones when you get off in port. Even that many I do under protest. You have a keeper with that one! Pictures are kinda my thing. I love making photo books and the only thing I want on our vacations is plenty of photo's. When we went to Europe last summer on an 11-night cruise, I bought the photo CD so I could have every photo that was taken on the ship. I hate Carnival doesn't offer that. As far as my husband being a good sport, he really is. But, he has expensive hobbies, while I do not. But then, there isn't much my husband won't do for me. I'm very lucky. But, I know it can be a pain. Our children groan very loudly when I begin snapping photo's.

hygienist999 Posted May 9, 2012 Author #65 Share Posted May 9, 2012 The beach at Grand Turk is gorgeous. Here are a few photo's I took until we joined our tour group.
hygienist999 Posted May 9, 2012 Author #66 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Our tour was to go snorkeling and have some beach time. Once we loaded onto our catamaran we headed out about 20 minutes to where we would be snorkeling. Our group was so big that it took two catamarans. Here is a photo of the other catamaran with the Carnival Liberty in the background. Here is photo of everyone snorkeling. The worst part was bumping into everyone. I also thought the water was very cold. But my husband did not think it was. Here is a photo of both of the catamaran's while anchored close to the beach. We did have to walk in about 4 feet of water to get to the beach. It was funny watching everyone lift their bags, camera's, and towels over their heads as they made their way to the beach. Another photo of the catamaran's with the Liberty in the background. The folks on the catamaran did a fantastic job. They got in the water to help people. They also dropped food to bring the fish up to where we were snorkeling. They also helped those who had not snorkeled before. They were very careful about safety also. The snorkeling was great also. As you look down you saw this beautiful beach floor with beautiful fish swimming around, but if you went close to the reef wall it was total blackness. We were told it dropped off to about 7000 feet. The beach was pretty, but there wasn't any chairs to sit in so we basically walked around for about 30 minutes before we loaded back up and went back to the port. Rare crewsweeper Posted May 9, 2012 #69 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Did they take you to other places up the coast? From your pictures, looks like they picked you up on the right side of the beach, opposite Margaritaville (nice beach BTW, it's DW's go to spot on our next visit) but only took you up to Governors Beach area just north of Jack's Shack. Granted it's difficult to walk to because of fencing, but with a great reef further north, just seems like if you're loading a couple of catamarans for snorkeling you'd go further away from the port area. That was the only places we went to. We had a great time though. Grand Turk was a great surprise for us. We loved the beach area and the shopping area. hygienist999 Posted May 10, 2012 Author #71 Share Posted May 10, 2012 After we got back from our snorkeling excursion we went into the shopping area of Grand Turk. I thought Carnival did a great job here. I loved the shops. I also enjoyed reading the historical Nasa event. This man did a great job entertaining the masses. Here is a photo of some of the shops. beshears Posted May 10, 2012 #75 Share Posted May 10, 2012 Great pictures and review. Those pictures brought back some good memories.:) You mentioned that you liked to take pictures. Well I think you may have met your "match" in me. I am older, but I am an avid picture taker. They will say, here comes "mom" or "Brenda" wanting to take pictures again. For my children who are grown now, I know they will appreciate them when I pass on. These are my "memories.":)
