FOS 1702 & 1704 vs 7708 & 7710?

Recommended Posts

Have the opportunity to move our FOS reservation from AFT E-1's 7708 & 7710 to D1's 1702 & 1704. Most obvious difference is losing the 7th deck cabin w/ the porthole on the side (7708) & changing from pulldown berths to sofabeds (kid sleeping)...Do the 10th deck AFT rooms have an overhang for shade? How much noise do you hear from the Windjammer?,,,any other suggestions,opinions...Love the AFTS & have stayed in 7th deck JS Aft!

Toss up.

How old are your kids? Will they object to sharing a sofabed? If so, don't switch.

7708's balcony is much larger than the other three, but they are all good-sized.

Cabins 1702 & 1704 are larger cabins.

The higher up you are, the less the infrastructure will interfere with your view.

You will have to weigh the differences and decide which are more important to you.

Kids are 17,13 & 11. None will have to share sofa bed. Are the sofabeds more comfortable than the pullman beds?

We've never experienced a pullman but can tell you that the sofa is very stiff by just about anyone's standards.

Depends on the sofabed. You can also ask your cabin steward to bring extra padding. They used to have the egg-crate mattress toppers; if they don't have those, they can use extra blankets for padding.

Younger ones often LOVE the bunk beds, so if the three kids are in one cabin, two will sleep on the regular beds and one in the bunkbed. Sounds perfect for an 11 year old.

My 3 boys (17, 19, 24) all prefer the pullman beds over the sofa beds. They say sofa beds too hard.
