Decent kayaking in Juneau?

It doesn't look like we have time for kayaking anywhere else on our early July cruise, and we're wondering about taking a half-day trip out of Auke Bay or on Mendenhall Lake. We'd also visit Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center that day, and hopefully the tramway after dinner. Any comments? Thanks, Pat
