IttaBit Posted May 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2012 Planning a cruise for next summer and thinking about booking a category FB (family balcony) room on RCCL Oasis of the Seas. Anyone stay in one? Thoughts? Do you think this is better than two adjoining balcony cabins?
cb at sea Posted May 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2012 I'd rather have the 2 connecting cabins....mainly so I could close the connecting door for some "vacation privacy".....plus, having 2 bathrooms would be quite helpful!
boulders Posted May 14, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2012 It would depend on the ages of those traveling. I love the family staterooms. But, it is just me and my kids aged 16 and under. If there is a couple and/or kids, you may prefer 2 staterooms.
IttaBit Posted May 15, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted May 15, 2012 My kids will be 13, 7 and 2. I like the idea of the extra bathroom but wondered about the amount of space in the FB room. It says you can sleep 6, but seems small for that. Also thinking about just bringing my mom with us and having her stay in the connecting room with the girls. boulders Posted May 15, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2012 The family staterooms are quite large with lots of floorspace. This would be especially important for the 2 year old. I tried connecting staterooms when ds was 2. I hated it. I couldn't see him when he was in the other room, so I didn't know if he had escaped or not. There wasn't room on the floor for him to sit down and play.
LOVINCRUIZIN Posted May 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2012 We like adjoining JSs. Gotta love the xtra bathroom (and the tub)
