Embark St. Petersburg - possible?

St. Petersburg is shown as a port of call for lots of cruises but are there any that start there? I have only found a Silversea in June this year and a National Geographic one next year. Perfect bucket list trip is river cruise Moscow to St. Petersburg then on to Finland/Norway/Sweden but St. Petersburg is tough! Suggestions???

The Russian visa and other rules are not as open and easy as what happens in most of Europe. That's why in most cases, the cruise lines just do one, two or three day cruise stops in St. Petersburg as a part of a wider and longer Baltics itinerary. Also, the airline service into and out of St. Petersburg is not as frequent for a wide range of services/locations as you have with airports in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, London, etc. It's possible, kind of, but rather limited.

 

YES, seeing Moscow, doing a river cruise, etc., would be nice. BUT, right now the market seems focused more on St. Petersburg being a key cruise stop, not as a starting and/or ending point.
