peter_krynicki Posted May 31, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2012 allow passengers from the cruise ships to use their pool and beach facilities for the day for a fee like they do in Cabo, Mexico and other ports? No but there are two buts... 1. The Southernmost Beach Cafe at the other end of Duval has a beach in front of it which you might assume is their beach. It's not. It's a public beach where for IIRC $5.00 you can rent a chair and an umbrella and sit there and swim in the ocean. And you can buy food and drinks from the cafe, but you are supposedly not able to bring them out onto the beach. http://southernmostbeachcafe.com/ 2. And Dante's, a bar over at the Bight past the Half Shell Raw Bar. As long as you buy a drink or something to eat, you can use their pool. http://danteskeywest.com/ Pjk
cb at sea Posted June 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2012 Key West really isn't much of a beach spot.... Personally, if I just wanted to sun, I'd stay on the ship and not pay to use a pool elsewhere! The pool will be virtually empty on any port day!
