alw1977 Posted May 31, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2012 I've done a search and read some older (1yr+) posts on the Royal Babies and Tots on the Freedom. Most people weren't too high on it. We will have a 3 yo and 16 month old at time of sailing. We plan to use Adventure Ocean and Royal Babies sparingly, but may put the kids in a few times over the course of the week (the baby no longer than a couple of hours at a time). Anyone have recent feedback?
cb at sea Posted May 31, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2012 At 3, the older child can make use of AO, if potty-trained, and most smaller kids LOVE it! The only thing to do is try it, and see how your child fares! Can't help with the babysitting, tho!
PattyW Posted June 1, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2012 We were on in March of this year. The counselors in Royal Babies and Tots were so nice! Unfortunately our two year old didn't want to stay on his own. He was happy as a clam playing with toys while we chatted with the counselors, but cried his eyes out when we left. This probably shouldn't have surprised me because it took several weeks of tearful goodbyes in the fall before he would happily go to his Parents Day Out program. To me, it wasn't worth the tears/stress for a couple of hours of respite for us. But, we ran into the counselors around the ship and every time they saw us, they would stop and talk to us and talk to our child - they even remembered his name despite him spending only 10 minutes in the program on two occasions. The facility was smallish, but nice with loads of toys and fun things to do. There were other children who took to it like fish to water, so if your child goes to daycare regularly, or otherwise doesn't have issues being left with friendly people, it would be great.
