beckymomof2 Posted June 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2012 I know it sounds like a lot of people have been happier with independent excursions when doing the cave tubing in Belize but we have decided we are going to stick with just Carnival excursions. Here is the deal... having a hard time figuring out what we want to do. But we really liked the idea of cave tubing in Belize but then read it's an hour and a half bus ride. Is it really that long? I don't remember it being that long...maybe that is both directions. The caves are a hefty ride from Belize City. Not to worry, the native drivers and tour guides will keep you in stitches all the way!! :):D
4wheeltravel Posted June 4, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2012 Just did this last week - although with private tour cavetubing.bz (they were awesome). The drive is about 1 hour up and for some reason is a little quicker on the drive back. Then you hike anywhere from 30-40 min to the caves. I highly recommend this excursion - it is so different from anything else. They keep your attention on the drive up by giving history and jokes. Our ride back was filled with rum punch so it was enjoyable for those drinking it. The others napped :-)
