softail Posted June 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2012 What is the approx cost of the transfer from the ship's dock into Venice ? Thanks! Well depending on which dock you are at you can walk to the people mover and pay a couple of euros's and it will get you Piazza Roma. Then if you are off to the airport a bus will also cost 5-6 euro's. If you are going from there to a hotel then it goes from reasonable for the vaparetto to very expensive for a water taxi. Enjoy its a beautiful city.
agabbymama Posted June 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2012 Princess transfer from pier to Piazzale Roma was $24 pp in 2008. There were no taxis, so definitely pre-plan your transfer.
blackpool belle Posted June 7, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted June 7, 2012 I am on a Carnival cruise. No idea where they dock.
sunshine nana Posted June 7, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 7, 2012 We walked from P.Roma to the ship and there was a free shuttle from the ship to P.Roma. This was pre-people mover. I would not pay $54 unless mobility was a problem.
CuTiAngel Posted June 7, 2012 #7 Share Posted June 7, 2012 Not sure about Carnival, but Princess provides water shuttles from the ship to St. Mark's Square for $15-17pp.
softail Posted June 8, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2012 I am on a Carnival cruise. No idea where they dock. We were there last June on the Carnival Magic and we just walked a few blocks from the ship to the people mover.

mapleleaves Posted June 8, 2012 #10 Share Posted June 8, 2012 The People Mover is 1E. Why don't you contact your travel agent or Carnival about the specifics of their shuttle service? It varies for each cruiseline. If you're in port for 24 hrs and the service is unlimited the cruiseline might be a good deal. OR, it might be cheaper to buy a vaporetto pass since at 6.50 per ride it adds up fast.
