What the heck is next to my cabin?

Can you tell I have never cruised before?

 

Take a look at the plan for Deck 11 on Oasis. My cabin is 11617 (neighborhood balcony cabin).

What is the white area next to the cabin? Is it open space? I am clueless.

It could be a storage area for the cabin stewards.

looks big..i am guessing crew stairs and/or service elevator...

On the park side of that white space is the plant wall. I imagine there are service areas on the corridor side. When you are done with your cruise, please come back and tell us what it is.

Crew passage. There will be stairs and an elevator for crew usage in that area. It is far too large to be housekeeping closets.

Thanks everyone! I have looked at tons of photos of the cabins from the Central Park vista, and shows nothing - no blank space.

A few weeks ago I was in 12217, directly across from you, up one deck. It is the plant wall in the middle of central park.

 

From your balcony you'll be able to poke your head around the corner to see it is a crew access area. They water the plants back there, but its a cover up area for the crew. I believe they have their own passage to cross the width of the ship on deck 14.

 

When I booked my CP cabin I specifically booked it next to that wall as opposed to having neighbors on that side.

Oh YAY! I was hoping it was something good and not just a bulkhead or something ugly. I was looking for a open space, or plants or something in photos but I didn't see anything.
