Herfnerd Posted June 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Not sure which beach bar to visit when we dock with the Victory this September. We are not big partyers (mid 40's) and looking for a relaxing day on a beautiful beach where we can also pick up a reasonably priced snorkeling tour with the turtles/wrecks cheaper than a specific excursion. Which of these places on Carlisle Bay would most suit us??
Aplmac Posted June 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2012 They're all on the same big broad beach with Lobster Alive located between Boatyard and Copacabana! Boatyard is a younger crowd, Lobster is more laid back. Access to the beach thru Lobster's property is free and you'll be welcome -their umbrellas (while stocks last!) are biiig solidly-planted things. I'd say you should prob. head for Lobster Alive, check it out and then see Just Where, from there. Make sense? .
Herfnerd Posted June 12, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted June 12, 2012 Thanx aplmac - no opinion on the Copa?
barbados Posted June 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2012 It's no where close to the Copacabana in Rio, but it does come alive at night. Daytime seems just ho-hum to some. You may find Lobster Alive, Harbour Lights or the Boatyard more to your liking during the day. ;)
OCruisers Posted July 23, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2012 You may find Lobster Alive, Harbour Lights or the Boatyard more to your liking during the day. ;) Barbados, my always trusted advisor ... We aren't taking a cat this time and what to go to someplace close. Plans are to go to Harbor Lights Beach. Will we be able to get a decent "cutter" there? If not, we'll make time to also go elsewhere. LuLu
barbados Posted July 23, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 23, 2012 If you're looking to kill two birds with the beach and the cutter, then Harbour Lights would suffice. But, you know, The Waterfront Cafe is quite close and they have excellent food. I'm sure they'd assemble a proper cutter for you, but we always just have their three steamed filets in fish broth with cou cou and fried plantain sans the bread. It is delicious Maybe a 15-20 minute walk from the ship and maybe another 10-15 back to Carlisle Bay and the beach at Harbour Lights. A taxi would be a 5 and 5 minute proposition. I hope that you enjoy your day on the island! :) :) :)
OCruisers Posted July 24, 2012 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2012 Thanks so much Barbados! We've been there on a land trip and LOTS of port stops over the years. Things change so it is good to aways have you to keep us updated on how things are now! :)
