Whitepass Train VS Coach Bus at Skaway

How different is taking the whitepass train versus joining a tour in a coach bus??

 

I am debating over these 2 options since coach bus tours seems to be cheaper.

Train - beautiful scenery and you can get up and walk around, stand outside on platforms, etc.

 

Bus - packed cheek by jowl with a bunch of other people in crowded seats trapped until the next stop and unable to take pictures or move around.

 

I think I'd opt for train.

I too give a big edge for the train, superior for history and scenery. Even though you will get posts saying the routes are the same- they are NOT. But plenty of people do take the bus, be certain to look at tour descriptions and choose this carefully. I again give a big edge to the longer options getting you into the Yukon. The rail/bus combos can be an option. And there is always a rental car with the printed out guide from Murray. :)

I agree with everyone else the Train was by far one of our best tours. Go to whitepassrailroad.com and book on line, it's cheaper than booking on the ship. The train pulls right up to the ship for boarding. The views were amazing!!!
