which airport to us for new york

We're thinking of taking a cruise that leaves from N.Y. Which airport should we use, & which hotels are close to the port & sightseeing?

JFK or LGA would be your first choices. Depending on airfare. EWR is a third option but doubtful you will save any money.

 

As far as hotels, if your cruise leaves from Manhattan, you should concentrate on Midtown Manhattan. You will be in the heart of the Manhattan and the pier is located on the West side.

 

Cruising from Brooklyn? Airports would be the same but if you are looking for a hotel near the pier you would need to look at Brooklyn hotels.

If seeing the NYC sights are your main objective, I would stay in Manhattan, unless you are very comfortable with using public transportation in an urban setting. You can take a cab to the pier on the day of the cruise.
