wripro Posted June 28, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2012 It doesn't matter which hotel they are offering. Take the credit and book it through your TA. You'll save money.

Rare jpalbny Posted June 28, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 28, 2012 The Intercontinental de la Ville is very nice; we stayed there once post-cruise, back in the days when we used to book these type of things through the cruise line...:o Agree that you can almost always pay less if you book your hotel on your own, and Rome has a plethora of nice hotels. IMO, the most important thing in Rome is location. There's no one place that is convenient to everything, because Rome is so huge, and the Metro isn't all that convenient for some places in the city. Pick the sights that you want to see, and plan your hotel location accordingly. Last time we visited, proximity to Termini was most important, so we stayed in a small place near Piazza della Repubblica.

JimandStan Posted June 29, 2012 #11 Share Posted June 29, 2012 Can yoy not still book a hotel through Oceania on your own without the promotion? Yes, but that involves an extra tariff payment, there would not be a credit back from the Cruise Line, any longer.
