Gatwick Airport: which hotel best for Delta flight

We are flying Delta from Gatwick to Kansas City. I would like to book a room at one of the two hotels connected with Gatwick, either the Hilton or La Meridian. Does anyone know which would be better for the Delta flight? I understand there are two terminals now at Gatwick. We would like to have the hotel in the same terminal that we depart from.

Le Meridien is the hotel that's attached to the North Terminal, from which Delta operates.
