Late night snacks

Is there any place you can get chips or salty snacks? We always bring ours but if we forget the gift shop charges 8.00 for a snack bag. I've always wondered if I'm just missing them somewhere. I have ordered room service and asked for chips and pretzels but they're usually stale. Any ideas?

You can always order a pizza at any time of the day (they're 24/7). I know it's not a salty snack, but at least it will kill those hunger gremlins :)

Thanks but I know all too well about the pizza! I love it. Sometimes we just want a little snack to go with our beer or wine before dinner or some time when pizza might be a bit too much. I know my boys will go for the pizza!

Your best bet is to buy some salty snacks at your first port and bring them back on the ship. That's what we do when we get the urge for something salty and can't afford the $8 bag on the ship that costs them 25 cents to buy.

Sometimes you can get salty snacks (pretzels, nuts, goldfish) at the Casino bar or Sports bar. I think they bring in the snacks in bulk behind the bar during happy hour and place them on the bar in small bowls. If there are any "leftovers" after HH - they will give them to you.

With all the norvis virus germs around cruise ships I'd never eat anything from a "shared bowl"

What they do is give you your own bowl, dipped from a bulk quantity container. You do not have to share your bowl with others if you do not want to. By leftovers, I mean in the bulk container - NOT hand you a bowl that someone else didn't finish.

Truce! I was just remembering a party one of our CC boards put together where we paid for an hour or two of unlimited drinks and they served fish shaped crackers in large serving bowls. There were napkins there but the people dug in with their hands, grabbed a handful to putt on the napkin.

Regarding snacks....I like that our TA sends a huge wine, fruit and cheese basket which also contains packages of nut mixes. We usually eat that either before dinner with our wine in the room, or late night. (If he doesn't do that again this year, I'm going to order our own basket. It's actually pretty inexpensive considering how FULL that basket was!)

I also enjoy the sushi (with a glass of my wine) before dinner during the cocktail hour. That became a nightly ritual for my daughter and I.:D

Hands in a community dish does sound yucky! But I do recall on our cruise a few years back, they had a mexican chips/salsa happy hour one day. I don't recall seeing that one last year on the Liberty.
