Tips for doing Stingray city and turtle farm on our own!??

I would love to visit the turtle farm and stingray city. I have seen where we can take a bus to the turtle farm pretty easily.....but how would we get to stingray city from there? can we hop back on a bus?? and once we get to stingray city, will there be locals operating boats willing to take us out to the sandbar?? or do we really have to pre-book through a company?? Any tips are greatly appreciated!!!!!

Stingray City *is* the sandbar. You can't get there except by boat. You can pre-book a private excursion, book an excursion via the cruise line or wait and see who/what is available at the pier when you arrive.

 

My suggestion would be to either book a combo excursion that includes both stops, or book a morning stingray excursion and then bus/taxi to the turtle farm afterwards.
