travelgeek59 Posted May 11, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2005 I'm on the Royal Carib. Serenade, departing May 29. Our itinerary lists "Misty Fjords Cruising" for 2 hours on June 3. My question: is it worth booking a Misty Fjords excursion from Ketchikan in addition, since we'll already cruise through a portion of the area? A couple of such options are listed in our cruise info booklet. Perhaps a seaplane adventure or wilderness cruise and flight will take us to much more remote/spectacular areas than we'll see from the Serenade. Any thoughts on this? Thanks-
Budget Queen Posted May 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2005 The flights go much farther into the fjords than the boat does. There is also spectacular scenery seen from above that is not seen from the boat. Certainly both worthwhile. :)
GloriaF Posted May 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2005 I just had a message from a friend on the Sun that did the Misty Fjords float plane trip. She said she got sick and that it was foggy. I couldn't decide from what she wrote if she enjoyed it or not. But I think it would be a great experience.
