Early morning Quebec City flight?

I naively booked a 9:55am flight out of Quebec City on a Monday morning after our ship has overnighted there (totally forgot about the whole getting cleared by the customs agents part! :o).

 

We are Canadian and we don't have to be at the airport until an hour before (and Porter Airlines website says they actually close the doors 30 minutes beforehand).

 

So is this 9:55am flight do-able? Changing it in any way is very expensive! :(

Holland America says they can't guarantee any flight before 11:00am, but if we take our own luggage and tell them we have to be in the earliest group...... ?

Yes, it's doable. While YQB is pretty much the opposite side of the city from the cruise port, the good news is that Quebec just isn't that big; in ideal conditions, it should take no more than 25-30 minutes to get to YQB from the airport, and even if you hit rush hour traffic, an hour would be your absolute worst-worst case scenario. So, if you're off the ship and on the road by 8 am, you should be fine.

I don't understand your question as we do overnight in Quebec City before we disembark, but the previous port is Saguenay. :confused:

You are right.

 

You will then already have cleared Canadian Customs and shouldn't need to clear them in Quebec. If your previous port was a US port, then you would need to clear customs for your first day in Quebec. Though since you are departing on the 2nd day in Quebec, it doesn't matter.

We have a lot of Canadian ports before Quebec City, but I've been told here on Cruise Critic that we don't clear customs until our final day onboard. :confused:
