Life is Good Cruising Posted August 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2014 We took this tour in March and Mr Grey had a sign for us at the port. We had Mr Grey's brother and we all enjoyed our tour. Van had ac and there was only 10 of us on this tour. We toured the town of Basseterre and then made a side trip at the Palm Court Gardens for about 15 mins. which was a beautiful resort with a pool and was told they sell day passes. We did see some people from our cruise ship enjoying their day at Palm Court. Next stop was the beach and we were asked what beach we all wanted to go to. Mostly everyone wanted to go to Cockleshell, DH and I wanted to go to Carambola. We were dropped off at Carambola first for quite a few hours while the others went to Cockleshell. Loved Carambola, it's a bit upscale and we had lunch there and felt the food, service and drinks were very good. Two chairs and an umbrella were $30. Beach was beautiful, clean and did not need water shoes as we needed on Frigate Bay at another time. We were given a pick up time by Grey tours and were picked up exactly the time given and still had enough time at the pier to do some shopping. If you just want a beach day, you can easily take a taxi to any of their beaches. They are highly rated on tripadvisor and would recommend taking Thenfordgrey tours. There are 4 of us & I had thought of just taking a taxi to a beach but wondered if by taking the tour, they would give out info of the area & see many of the "highlights"?? :)
Life is Good Cruising Posted August 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2014 Thank you for your response.. If you want want to do just a beach, there are taxis at the end of the pier that will take you to any of their beaches. I felt water shoes were needed on some of their beaches. Mr Grey's tour *The Tour* will give you a more comprehensive tour and history of the island. We have not taken that tour yet.
