weissjaz Posted July 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2012 I have done several 7 night cruises and have no issues with dressing up for an evening, but do people really go all out when you are sailing for this short a time? How many people eat somewhere other than the MDR just to remain casual? I would really like to pack lightly for this trip and another outfit with another pair of shoes seems a bit much. People do both. The choice is yours. I have always been surprised at the numbers that do dress up and spend much time having formal pictures taken. Bon Voyage!!! dacsmom Posted July 19, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2012 Do not skip formal night on a 3 night cruise. It seems less formal, some people go all out and others do not. I wore pants and a nice blouse on a 4 night Monarch cruise and I was not nearly the most underdressed. I even saw shorts in the MDR. Those shorter cruises are more laid back. Just wear what you are comfortable in.
JMG Posted July 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2012 When we did a 3 night cruise there were some businesses that had conferences or meetings. One night the business had a costume party and the outfits were really great! They did dress up for formal night. It is really up to the individual just like a 7 night cruise!
