ok, call it first cruise jitters but....how am I going to fill the long Days at sea other than sitting around the pool??

Trust me.....you will have lots to do. There are also worse things than sitting around a pool all day ;) Make sure you take a look at the cruise compass ( it will be delivered to your cabin each day) it outlines all of the day's activities and you can pick and choose what you want to do. As well, bring a highliter pen with you so you can highlight the activities of interest.

We spent some time at the pools, but I don't think that even if you didn't go to the pool at all, you'd be able to come close to doing everything that is possible. And like previously mentioned, you can always go find something to eat.:p

Ug,

Ummm..........the casino, walking up on the top level, taking pictures of your first cruise, eating, walking, eating, walking........see what the ship's store has. Then there's the triva games, bingo (for those who like that kind of thing), see if there's a golf swing analysis at the back of the ship (unless you don't like golf at all), go to the ship's library, internet cafe, video arcade....shall I go on??????............Read up on your destination.

thank you all soooo much! I feel a lot better now. even though it's 6 months away, I have been researching my options for excursions and then it hit me, what do I do when I am not off the ship. Now I know; all will be great.

thanks again to everyone.

:D uglme,

Hajekfan did not mention FOOD. Food is a, no, THE main reason to cruise. Oh sure, you can play trivia or bingo, maybe even splash around in the hottub, (is hottub one word or two?), but it is hard to play on the Lido Deck when they are flipping burgers at the grill. And don't forget the midnight buffet, 24 hr. pizzaria, the Prime rib in the formal dining room or the ice cream. I like to mix it up a little. Hot tub, then food, gym and food, main lounge and ?, Yes food.

If you will excuse me, now, I think that I heard a T-bone calling my name.

Bye for now and please, eat a shrimp for me.

Well since you mentioned it, I also compiled the dining schedule.

All Celebrity ships have a buffet breakfast and lunch available. At dinner, there is a casual dining option. It is not a buffet. It is table service and there is a menu with a limited selection. Reservations are required and a $2 fee is charged to cover the tip. Tables have tablecloths and there a waiters. Reservations are taken up until 5:30pm according to my last cruise daily.

There is also a sushi bar, pizza and baked pasta available in the buffet area. Room service is available 24/7 and during the dining room hours, you can order room service from the dining room menu.

Here is a list of dining hours and options from our Millie trans (14 night) cruise to give you some idea of the food options. I had compiled the list for our 11/18/05 trans roll call so that newbies would be able to have some idea of what kind of food and dining times are available.

The names of the places and possibly locations will be different on each Celebrity ship but your food options will be the same on all Celebrity ships with the following exceptions: The AquaSpa cafe is only available on the Millennium class ships and you will have only two midnight buffets on a 7 night cruise.

This is the food schedule from one day from our last cruise on the Millennium:

Sorbets served in citrus shells to cool and refresh.

Also - Room service is available 24 hours a day

The room service menu includes sandwiches, salads, and pizza.

Continental Breakfast (including eggs, cereal, etc) is available from 6:30am - 10:00am

The dining room dinner menu is available from room service during the dining room hours.

Midnight - There was a buffet on 4 of the nights and gourmet bites the others. Gourmet bites, served in the lounges, are bite size appetizers and desserts that are passed around by waiters. The buffets were a chocolate lovers, a fruit & sherbert, a tex-mex, and of course the grand buffet on the last formal night.

Uglme, I enjoy sea days more than port days! I can always find something to do on the ship, so many planned activities, and yes of course - grazing at all the food venues.;) I love just being on deck, looking at the great vastness of water, watching for dolphins and flying fish, enjoying the sun shining, and the tropical breezes on my face. Hey, I'm on a CRUISE!...and nothing could be better. You can do it all - or nothing at all. It's all goooooooood!
