Recommended Posts

Thank you all for your comments!!! If anyone has added me on facebook... just specify that you are from cruise critic on your request... cuz' I usually don't accept people that I don't know... Also... There are no pictures of us in the zipline in labadee... but we did that as well.. in case someone wants to know something about that!! It was pretty cool and although expensive, it was worth it!!! :)

The shows repeat throughout the week... just be sure to make your reservations as soon as they open! You can check older compasses to see the show times and they should be similar! I didn't save mine so I can't really tell....but I used this website before to check the cruise compasses: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10100801121497981&l=d450f4c873

My mistake!! This is the website with the compasses: http://www.*****.com/cruise-compass

I didn't know there was a myth!! Still I don't think I can have worse luck than I usually have hehehehe!! I think I'll be safe as long I don't post any videos!!

Myth? If a picture of me in my briefs wearing lipstick and a 44FF red bra appears online, I'll track the poster down!

There was a night where even the waiter said that the menu wasn't good and recommended to order from the alternate menu!! Can you imagine?! O.o... That day we had the Black Angus Top Sirloin, which was nice...

*The night we ordered from the alternate menu had an eastern european theme if I remember correctly...

This was one of my main complaints on Allure. Every night we were in the dining room (4 total) the wait staff told us something was not up to par and recommended the alternate pay item. One night I can see, but every night to me means they are pushing the extra charge items.

We never did get an alternate pay item and enjoyed everything we had off the regular menu.

Saludos

I didn't mean from the pay items... I wouldn't pay extra in the MDR.. if you're going to pay.. go to the specialty restaurants!! However, there is a menu available every night with 'alternative selections'... Every night is the same.. It includes some standard dishes... pasta, fish, chicken and meat!

*Ziti with Marinara Sauce

*Filet of Atlantic Salmon

*Chicken Breast with Seasonal Herbs

*Black Angus Top Sirloin

These 4 items are available every night!! You don't need to pay extra for these! We got the chicken breast and the top sirloin... but IMO the sirloin (served with a baked potato) is better!! Also always feel free to ask for other dishes or other sides!! The chicken breast comes with mashed potatoes... but when I saw the baked potato they brought to my bf... I asked our waiter for one... and he was happy to bring me one... Also the night that they serve lobster... I felt that the dish needed some carb to go with it... and I asked our waiter for some steamed rice... I don't even think any other dish was served with that... but he was very nice and brought a plate with some rice for me :)

*Also... the day of the lamb shank... my bf and I both ordered it... but asked our server for the tiger shrimp to share!! They didn't have a problem with that either!!

I noticed a picture where a wonderful spool of cotton candy was showcased. When and where do they offer cotton candy?:p What is the cost (if any)?

I bought the cotton candy for $3.95 O.O... at the Boardwalk... I can't tell specifically which days they sell it.. but it is just a stand in front of the Ice Cream Parlor... I think when I bought it... it was about noon or afternoon on a sea day!! They are very generous with it... the prices are always high IMO... but I hadn't had cotton candy IN YEARS so I went for it!!! :)

Veremos a ver...

Hello Cruise Critic!!

After a long wait, last week my fiancée (23y/o) and I (25y/o) finally sailed on the Allure of the Seas!!! We had a WONDERFUL time!!! It was a little crowded at times (specially it being JULY) but that didn't stop us from enjoying the cruise!! All the positives really outweigh that negative!!

Here are all my pictures (with a lot of food porn for all the foodies out there)!!! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10100802949873901.2662290.9032463&type=1&l=8b9237757d

Feel free to ask any questions!! ...and thanks to all that answered mine before!!

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. I kinda like a review in pictures, as it keeps any negatives out. DW and I are looking at booking Allure for next May.

You will not regret it!! They say May is a good date since a lot of kids are not out of school yet and the ship overall will feel less crowded!!

#1 Canon PowerShot SX260 HS... I'm in love with it!! I read a lot of reviews and comparisons with the similar Nikon and Panasonic... and this one turned out to be the best in its category!!

I'm surprised that the camera took as nice pictures as it did especially the motion shots like at the diving show and so on. Usually those small cameras blur badly. This one took some nice shots. I would have bet you were using a SLR.

Nice pics.

I had a SLR... but I just don't want to carry it around anymore when I travel!! So.. I bought this one!! You just need to study your camera!! These pictures weren't taken in Auto mode!! Don't use the digital zoom and use the mode in your camera that's for motion pictures and you'll get better pictures!! This camera has a 20x optical zoom that helps too!!

My husband and I will be on Allure for Thanksgiving. We are pretty close to your ages (27 and 26 respectively), so I have a couple of questions about how you felt about the cruise:

  1. Were the kids overwhelming? We know there will be kids since it's RCL, but did they seem to be contained in their areas (including teenagers)?

  2. How was the night life? We're not really club kind of people, more a few nice cocktails in a lounge type people. Are there any places you found that had this kind of atmosphere in the evening?

  3. Did you do the Prohibition party? If so, how was it?

Thanks for any answers you can provide!

We will be on the same cruise with you! Hope to meet you in the Meet and Mingle roll call!
