Carnival Imagination or Norwegian Sky?

Will be celebrating my in-law's 60th wedding anniversary along with 50 year olds and a 10 year old. Which is the better ship overall (main concerns are quality cabins and good formal dining). Which would you suggest between the two? Thanks!

When you say formal dining, do you mean dress up? Neither ship good for that. Really just depends on the passengers on your cruise. Been a both ships many times and very hard to say which like better. Both good for a quick criuse.

Neither. Both offer very informal, budget oriented, quick cruise experiences.

If you are time limited and wish to sail from Miami, have you considered Celebrity Cruise Lines? They offer (seasonally) short 4-5 day cruises from Miami aboard their Millennium class ships, and will provide the quality and formal dining experience that you are interested in.

I think thats why the resounding silence to the question .. especially when the OP said they wanted "quality" but looking at two older ships that will be a decent cruise.. but "quality"?

I used to read a lot of people complaining about NCL SKY, but at least not so much any more.. and its obvious this is the oldest Carnival class of ship too.

I dont mind Fantasy class, but I wouldnt call it high quality cruising either. Id consider it "budget" cruising. nothing wrong with a great value.. but doesnt sound like what OP described.

We live in Florida and take quite a few weekend cruises each year. We love both and you cant go wrong with either.

NCL Sky

3 pay restaurants (steakhouse, french, and italian)

Small cabins

Very Tropical feel

Wonderful staff

Small casino

Private Island is great

Imagination

Larger cabins but not a lot of balconies or suites

Wonderful staff

Great casino

Great slide

Small pool

Day at sea (our best days)

I think quality is subjective and food opinions as well. I think you will enjoy either. Just getting away as a family will be a great trip !!!

Have fun !!!!
