Disembarkment port parking?

Do the ports offer parking near the ports. Airfare seems high for a family of three so we were thinking we could drive to New Orleans in a day. Really since we are two hours from a major airport and wait times you blow a whole day pretty much anyway.

According to the Port of New Orleans website, parking is $16 per day.

Others may direct you to cheaper parking (you will then need a shuttle both ways) or a hotel close by that may include parking with an overnight stay.

Go over to the Gulf Coast departure board and you'll find lot's of parking suggestions from hotels that offer it to parking garages. There is public/secure parking at the port for about $16 per day.

On the cruises that we've taken we opted for staying the night before the cruise in a hotel that offered free parking for the duration of the trip. Spending the night before the trip assures that you will be on time for your departure.

 

Check online for hotels that offer this. The ones that we have used offer parking for a small fee and usually there is a shuttle to take you to the port!
