mauimary Posted August 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2012 We will be in London 5 days pre-cruise in June 2013. We are looking into some B&B's but right now it is overwhelming the number of them. Has anyone out there stayed in a B&B that they would recommend that are near the Tube? Thankyou
pklein9747 Posted August 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2012 We are headed to London in October as a stop before our TA from Venice. We are staying at the Lime Tree Hotel which is a B&B about 5 minutes from Victoria Station. It gets great reviews on TripAdvisor, so that and its convenient location are what made us choose this pretty, little place. Will post a review when we return at the end of October. handfordr Posted August 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2012 You should first clarify what you mean and want by using the term B&B. In London most places that advertise themselves as B&B's are not family run quite good quality places with attentive hosts, that's for outside London. Anything under 100 GBP per night called B&B is code for cheap hotel with very basic accommodation and staff that may struggle speaking English. Traditional B&B's are hard to come by in Central London. In my opinion the best traditionl B&B in London is the Luna & Simone in Victoria run by two brothers and the Darlington Hyde Park in Paddington which is not family run and is really a small hotel that gets the basics right, as is the Lime Tree mentioned above next to Victoria Coach Station. A good quality 3 star hotel like the Premier Inn Chain will be similarly priced to those mentioned above.
