  1. Both of our grandsons are on the spectrum. They were 8 and 3 at the time we sailed. Both levels of the club were excellent , especially for our 3 year old. The staff were very accommodating. They both couldn't wait to go each day.
  2. This will be our first time cruising into Quebec City. We have a tour booked that begins at the Tourist Information Center at 12 Rue St. Anne. Can we walk there? Hubby has some mobility problems so I am worried about how far we will need to walk. Are there other options for getting into the old city? Thanks in advance.
  3. We really like the Apple AirTag bracelet holders sold on Amazon. Lots of different materials, styles and colors. We prefer the silicone ones with a regular watch buckle on the band as they're waterproof and do not come undone.
  4. Another vote for Overlord Tours. Full day from LeHavre and excellent tour.
  5. Could hear the music or games when on the balcony but not in the cabin? There is a door directly out to the main pool. When that is open, you can hear the noise in the hallway
  6. Hubby had just gotten over a bout with pneumonia when we sailed on the Sky in March. Because his oxygen levels were still fluctuating, we rented an oxygen concentrator and brought it on board. No one even questioned it when we embarked and went through security. He used it mostly in the room, but we did bring it up on deck one day when he was struggling a bit. There are almost always a number of people who are on oxygen while on the ship.
  7. I used insuremytrip online and chose Trawick International Insurance. They are primary for medical. This was the first time I have used them and am very pleased.
  8. No. This was my very first Afib incident. It was determined I was dehydrated which caused the Afib. Once I received fluids, it corrected itself.
  9. I had to go to the medical center after experiencing an Afib incident. They provided an itemized bill no charge, however, the cost for a full report (mine was 7 pages + EKG results) was $28 if I wanted it. I was told that I would only need the itemized bill to submit to insurance, but wanted the entire report just be sure. Travel insurance covered my entire $1600 bill.
  10. If you get a chance, could you please post a picture of the Sabatini's menu? Lots of talk about a "new" menu but have not seen it. Thanks & Enjoy!!
  11. Took our three grandchildren on Princess last June, ages 9, 8 & 3. All three are different in their likes/dislikes and activity levels. The 3-year-old is on the Autism Spectrum. All three loved going to the kids club. The counselors are so active and caring. They took special care of our youngest and were more than happy to help him through some issues particular to him. They made lots of crafts, played games, and enjoyed making friends with other kids on the ship. They keep asking to go on another cruise again!
  12. We would definitely have booked the trip at the website price, but we couldn't get past choosing the cabin...we would just get an error message ๐Ÿ˜ž.
  13. We love the cabins on Sun deck. Have stayed in S218 and will be in S222 in March. The balconies are larger, covered and the location is great...right to the side of the adult pool and bar. Also love that when you exit your room, you are not in a regular hallway but one side of the hallway is all glass...enclosing the adult pool area. It it just so bright. Even though it was the front of the ship, we didn't notice any significant movement.
  14. Around 6:30 EST Princess updated their website and the fare was increased to what was quoted to me by my TA. We have decided to pass on this cruise.
  15. We did not use Princess insurance on our Alaskan cruise where we contracted Covid. Princess, however, had promised us FCC and, at the time, a daily food allowance as we were required to quarantine off the ship. After filling things out, and waiting 8 weeks, someone on CC said it was best to contact Princess Solutions. The thing was...you can't contact Princess Solutions directly...you have to go through Princess Customer Service. So on a day when I had lots of time, I called the main Princess number. After being on hold for over a half hour, I spoke with a rep and asked to be transferred to Princess Solutions. Two & half hours later I finally spoke with a lovely woman and explained about our FCCs, covid, etc. After checking her records...of which there was not one for us...she explained that she needed to contact the ship to confirm we had test positive and had been quarantined. I also emailed her all of the documentation that I had. She asked that I give it 10-14 days. Two weeks later I emailed her to follow up and precisely two days later we had our FCCs and a check followed the following week. It may definitely be worth your time to contact Princess Solutions. Oh, and when you get transferred to them and are on hold, it may seem like you have been disconnected. Just stay on the line. Best of luck.
  16. We have been looking for.a cruise for hubby and I to take later this year. Looked at transatlantic but really didn't want to fly over to Europe. Then we started looking at Panama Canal trips. We've done a RT Ft Lauderdale but have always wanted to do a full transit. We found the perfect cruise for this August traveling from LA to NY...19 days on the Emerald. The price on the website with Princess Plus for category BD balcony on Caribe Deck shows at $2879pp before taxes and fees. Unfortunately, as I tried to book a cabin, the website kept crashing. So I contacted my TA to book it for me. Imagine my surprise when he came back and told me the total price would be $8200!!! Yes, taxes and fees for Panama Canal are high - $550pp. We declined insurance so there was no reason the price should so high. I won't even tell you about the cluster.... that my TA had to go through to just get this booked. He said that he and other TA's have had nothing but problems, problems, problems with Princess customer service.. So, I contacted Princess via chat to confirm the price. Yes, the rate is $3900pp for that category cabin. WHAT??!! Why does the website show another price? Of course, the response is the website is going through updates and maintenance. She advised me if I see that price online, I should book online. Oh, if I only could. Guess that's why I can't. So disappointed ๐Ÿ˜ž
  17. We stayed at the Blue Horizon this past July and were very happy with the room rate and the location. Lots of good restaurants nearby, including a great bakery around the corner for morning coffee and breakfast. Plus, the Hop On, Hop Off bus stops right in front.
  18. Just applied for stockholder credit yesterday for our March 4 cruise. Same situation...our names are on first page and stock info on page 4. I view mine in a pdf viewer, delete pages 2 & 3, redact account numbers and save as a different pdf. I just sent an email to sbpcl@princesscruises.com with my name, booking number, ship name and sailing date and attached the revised pdf document with the two pages from the brokerage statement. Account was credited today! Very easy peasy!
  19. We were quarantined on the Majestic in Alaska in early August. In early October I called to find out about our FCC for days in quarantine and meal stipend of $100pp for days in isolation in Anchorage. I called the customer service number who then had to transfer me to Customer Solutions. I was on hold for 2.5 hours but finally spoke with a very nice woman. She explained that she had to contact the ship for confirmation that we were, in fact, quarantined due to Covid. Once she received that confirmation, she would be able to process our claim. It took about 10 days for the confirmation and another week to get our meal stipend check and the FCC was credited in 2 days. For us, it was worth 2.5 hours on hold. I just went about my business while I just left my phone on speaker until someone answered. I do wish that Princess was more transparent about getting the FCC and meal stipend. I feel that if I hadn't contacted them, we might never have received them.
  20. I find it interesting that you came on Cruise Critic to complain but didn't come here for help. You are a seasoned traveler and a seasoned Cruise Critic user. These forums are ALWAYS the first place I go to seek information or assistance. You should have asked for assistance here and would have realized that you didn't need to use the app.
  21. Friends tried booking a Sky Eastern Caribbean Princess for March 2023 and had the same problem. We had called the night before and booked with no problem...$100 deposit and $100 OBC. They tried booking online and got the same $500 deposit so she called. Princess rep also got the $500 deposit. She told them that was wrong...cruise was part of the promo. She had to wait a day or two for a call back but all got straightened out and she got the same deal.
  22. I spoke last week with Princess Customer Service (quick call back) who had to transfer me to Princess Customer Solutions (2.5 hours on hold) to talk to someone about the FCC due us for our 4 days in quarantine and the $100pp/day for our quarantine food during our Alaska cruise/Anchorage quarantine in late July/early August on the Majestic. I'm glad I called because I don't think anything would have happened if I didn't call. She looked at our file, didn't see anything that we had tested positive or had been quarantined. I had to email her the receipts from our quarantine stays and she said she had to contact the ship to confirm that we tested positive and had been quarantined. I was told that once she receives that confirmation, she will process our funds but it would then be 30-60 days until we see those funds. She is supposed to email me when she receives the confirmation, but nothing yet. P.S. She said that you can only be reimbursed for up to 5 days for the food reimbursement.
  23. Our 3 year old grandson has been diagnosed on the spectrum and is also speech delayed. We cruised with him and his family this past June on the Caribbean Princess, and we couldn't have been happier with their kids club. He loved it. He would ask each morning, "Kids Club? Go play?" They were made aware of his disability and were wonderful with him. His parents were given a pager in case they were needed and it did go off once...he had gotten his clothes wet while washing his hands. I would not hesitate to bring him on another Princess cruise and take advantage of their kids club.
  24. Our experience on the Majestic was very different. We tested positive the fourth day of our Alaskan cruise. We were informed of what was going to occur and were moved to an isolation cabin across Dolphin deck. We received multiple calls from medical and from passenger services advising us of what would/needed to occur from the time we entered isolation until we disembarked. If we had a question, we called them. We had no problems with food or delivery...just picked up the phone and ordered what we wanted, including our Crown Grill dinner which was set for the 6th night of the cruise. Passenger services even arranged for someone to "shop" for me as there was something at the store I wanted to purchase. I think people forget that the passenger services, food service, etc cannot read your mind. Pick up the phone and ask. If someone doesn't know the answer, ask to speak with someone else. I do think that Princess' handling of quarantine/isolation once off the ship should be clearer. We, too, were surprised that we needed to make our own arrangements for accommodations after our one night in a hotel reserved by Princess (which we thought Princess was paying for....NOT!). We did book an Airbnb with was much less expensive and nicer than any hotel room. Thank goodness for travel insurance which will reimburse us.
  25. We were on the Majestic Princess July 31-August 6 sailing. Got our refund check on Monday.
