lilfleck Posted August 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2012 Driving to FL... I may arrive early (to be safe)... is there anything to do early in the morning before boarding (12:30-2:30PM)? How early can I board the boat?
wrigley80 Posted August 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2012 You will be able to board by 11:00 am. You may as well arrive early because the longer you wait......you will encounter longer lines
firefly333 Posted August 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2012 No one waits to board hardly until that late, I agree. If you are at a hotel, they wouldnt take you over before 11 am, but Im usually there before 11. There are two nice places to eat at this port if you dont want to board for whatever reason.. and pay for a nice lunch.

Rare Silent Penguin Posted August 16, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2012 This doesn't answer your question but how do you do it driving through the night? Maybe, we're just getting too old, but the couple times we did the drive (from western Maryland) during the night hours, we were wrung out the next day or two. Even though it means burning a day of leave for dh and spending an extra $100.00, we leave the day before and rent a room in Cocoa Beach with free parking and breakfast. I hate the gap time between being finished breakfast and leaving for the port.

If the weather is nice, go for a walk on the beach. There are several small parking lots in Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach that are free at the east end of most residential streets.
