NauticalOne Posted August 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Hello all, For those of you that have been on both the Crown and the Ruby, we were on Ruby last November for a week and will be on the Crown in January for a week. I am assuming the ships are pretty much exactly alike, but from those that have experienced them, are there any differences? Thanks. -Glenn
Shogun Posted August 17, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Hi There Both are fine ships, even met up with crew that served on both, they are small differences but nothing to write home about. yours Shogun
robsaw Posted August 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Yup, been on both - very minor differences - most things are the same thing in the same place. You won't have to relearn the layout of the ship.
MSMcDuffy Posted August 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2012 I can't think of any differences except that the Ruby is a little newer but the Crown was well-kept so no visual differences IMO.
Rare TracieABD Posted August 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2012 I have been on both, and I cannot think of any glaring differences...:)
hubofhockey Posted August 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2012 Been on both. Physically, I couldn't tell the difference, but felt the service and food were better on the Ruby. Hard to explain that one.
OldSeaDog Posted August 18, 2012 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2012 The only difference you're likely to notice is that the locations of the Captain's Circle desk and Shore Expeditions desk are reversed.
boca7 Posted August 22, 2012 #8 Share Posted August 22, 2012 We have been on both ruby 3 times & crown once. I felt they were the same, my wife felt the ruby was slightly better & my daughter liked the food on the crown better. Go figure. Anyway, we are going back on the ruby this nov. & the caribbean which is older but has a grand suite that is over 1200 sq ft that the newer ships does not have. vmom Posted August 23, 2012 #9 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Been on both and really enjoyed both. You can't go wrong with either, so choose by where you would like to sail.
