What exactly is a hump cabin?

I know Gambee(ty btw:))said I'm right b4 the hump cabins. What is so special about them? Is this the type of cabin to get?

Oh yeah, here's another off topic question. I'm new to NCL, what's a "blue dot" cruiser?

Thanks,

Krystal:)

That # of passengers was my guess at how many folks onboard would be regular/often visitors in the Haven.

1/2 of the 70% occupancy of the suites.

I did not include mini suites in my #'s.

:)

Thanks...I appreciate you trying to give an idea of the numbers. It will be interesting.

Hi all thanks for all the info, but I am confused........ I booked 14166 because it was not under pool deck at least by deck plans on ncl web site, the 147... mini suites were under pool by their site am I wrong?

Actually you are in deck 14 the last deck before the pool deck. 147.... rooms are in the starboard while 141.... rooms are on the port side.

Hi gambee thanks just looked again. Good news is I am on 12day from ny so the pool casino is moot until we get to warmer weather. And it seems longer cruises don't really get big gambling crowds. However cas is paying so I aint complainng lol. I am so excited for my trip I am a late sleeper but want to be up and check out the ship so it should be interesting to see about the noise issue from past cruisers. Btw you are a great source of info

And Gambee - where do you think 16122 is? Thanks in advance for your help!

Can anyone tell where the jogging track is? I can't tell if deck 6 or 7 wraps around to make a full jogging track. I checked the Epic deck plans and that ship has one on deck 7 on one side only, it appears as each end of that side is a deadend.

I am not very knowledgeable about hump cabins either but what I have read leads me to believe that hump cabins are sought after because they have larger than normal balconies.

Blue dot cruisers are those who feel that "lounger hogging" at the pools should be monitored and after a reasonable period of time, towels and other items left on them to "reserve" them should be removed so other passegers can use the loungers by the pool. Others may add or correct if I am mistaken.

Not always, in some cases people (like me) enjoy having a clear view downward towards the water without obstructions. Unfortunately in breakaway it looks like even the humps have obstructions. The only set of balconies with no obstruction downward are the M6 mini suites in deck 8 with extra large balconies. It is actually very similar to the S-class ships of X, those are the only cabins clear of objects. But in X the cabins are actually the cheapest balcony you can get without an obstructed view(life boats) you can get. Not a bad deal.

The only caveat of those minisuits are that the auditorium is right below you (possible noise pollution ).

I have a 2 BD haven suite. I think that this what you are referring. I am pretty sure these have a double balcony.

Accordingly to the NCL site there are 14 suites on the side of deck 16. It is had to tell if they are double balconies or not. If you count the bathroom windows, there are only 8. So it appears there are only 8 suites on the deck. OR, the penthouse or 2 BDR does not have an picture window in the bathroom. I think they have not put up the balcony dividers yet. The first bathroom window far left on deck 16 seems to be the deluxe owners suite.

We will soon find out :)

First let me say, on behalf of everyone on here, thanks to gambee for all the cabin locator work. You're awesome.

Next, and I only know this because we're staying in a deck 16 2-bedroom villa on the port side in May and I was obsessed with figuring out which balcony was ours when all the pictures came out after the flout out. I printed the deck plans and the ship pictures and compared everything and this is what I came up with..... (I'm not 100% positive, of course, but this is my best guess...)....

I'm pretty sure that what is circled is 2 separate 2 bedroom villas' balconies - 16120 and 16122. The divider just hasn't been installed yet. Looking from the right side, the first cabin/sliding glass door is 16130 (an S5 that seems to have some extra balcony space). The next one is a handicap accessible S5 which appears to be the size of S4s on the deck plans. To the left of its balcony is its bathroom windows (covered in a brown screen - one window for the tube (square window) and one for the shower (vertical rectangle window)), which normally a S5 penthouse would not have, but if my hunch is correct is that they modified a S4 to make a S5 handicap Haven penthouse is correct, then it has the the same window configuration as the S4s. The next two sliding glass doors/balconies are for 16126 and 16124 (standard S5 penthouses so they won't have bathroom windows). The bathroom windows to the left of 16124 are actually the set of bathroom windows for 16122 - a 2 bedroom villa (S4). The sliding glass door immediately to the left of 16122's is 16120's sliding glass door, so there will be a divider between those to balconies. And then, 16120's bathroom windows, then two more S5s and so on and so on.

I hope this makes sense. It took me a while to figure out where our balcony was and finally did! :D

As a point of reference on the bathroom windows, here is a picture of the Epic's 2-bedroom villa's bathroom windows:

Thank you very much. I'm at 16130 and it's a nice surprise that the balcony is a little larger...

I haven't sailed in a balcony on any of the NCL Ships. Do the dividers open up to allow more space on the balcony. We were given three cabins all together, would be great if we could make one large balcony for the three cabins?

Edit: I think I found the answer to my own question. Looks like they stopped allowing it, oh well, it would have been nice.
