Hilo-suggestions for rental car companies

Looking for suggestions for the fastest and easiest access to a rental car company to book with for the day. Thanks, Bob

It seems to me that all the rental companies are at the airport. Also, think I saw some "tables" in the terminal....sure someone from recent can help.

 

We used Hertz and they sent a pick up car and also returned us to the cruise terminal.

Lou, thank you. That's nice to know about Hertz. I prefer for us to be picked up and dropped back. Some places people have indicated there can be a site right across from the pier but wasn't specific so didn't know if that was in Hilo.

On our recent cruise, both Hertz and Thrifty/Dollar had shuttles running between the port and the airport. We used Thrifty and recommend joining their free Blue Chip program for express pickup and drop off. It will save you a little time depending on the lines. Below is a link to our blog entry for Hilo.

I second Thrifty and the Blue Chip Program. We were in our rental car and on our way to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park within 45 minutes of getting off the ship.

We used Thrifty blue chip and got upgraded to a convertible.
