SuzyQ214 Posted September 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2012 How much are the golf carts? Do they rent by the hour?
cruisin'mama Posted September 3, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2012 We went over to Catalina last summer and I don't remember how much the golf carts were ($100+ ) for 1/2 day maybe, but I do remember that you had to pay with cash. We checked 2 different places and ended up at the ATM. It was fun though.

cruisin'mama Posted September 4, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 4, 2012 My son and his girlfriend did the zipline on Catalina. They had a blast, but that was their 1st time ziplining so couldn't compare it to anything.

Ziplining in Catalina was allot of fun .. The best ones I found were in Cabo San Lucas, they had a photographer in the tree's following us around taking our pics. gemcrusier Posted October 11, 2012 #11 Share Posted October 11, 2012 http://www.visitcatalinaisland.com/avalon/Tours.php I live a little over an hour from catalina by ferry ther is so much to do there take a look at this site. We used them to book the zipline it is fun , but not like doing it in costa rica with monkeys in all the tree tops around you.
nmyorkiemom Posted October 22, 2012 #12 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Will be there mid-nov. is there much within walking distance of dock, or are golf carts needed? Thanks! I love to walk, hike.....DH not so much!!
Splinter Posted November 13, 2012 #13 Share Posted November 13, 2012 You cannot take rental golf carts outside of the city of Avalon. In order to get into the interior, you must take a tour or regular car cab. The zip line is great. 5 drops (the longest is nearly 1/4 mile), and you need to plan on 2 hours. Reservations are a must. lake_wannabees Posted November 13, 2012 #15 Share Posted November 13, 2012 I'm "assuming" that we tender to Catalina Island. Not sure where we're going to be circling since our ship leaves Long Beach at 5:30 PM and doesn't get to Catalina until 7:30 AM. We've taken the ferry to Catalina and it hasn't taken 14 hours to get there. In the past we've just explored Avalon so I may make this a spa day onboard ship. SadieN Posted November 22, 2012 #16 Share Posted November 22, 2012 Best free excursion are the tenders in Avalon. One tender captain actually does doughnuts in his wake. We always get Salt Water Taffy at Lloyds and mail it home to our kids. lake_wannabees Carnival parks somewhere off the coast, out of the channel. On your seaday you should be parked near San Clemente.
