Has the Grandeur of the Seas Been refurbished lately?

Recommended Posts

I noticed that the Grandeur of the Seas is moving to Baltimore to

replace the Enchantment of the Seas . Has the G O S been, or is

it scheduled to be refurbished before the change? Typically, what

changes do they make on a ship in that class when refurbishing? Is

it usually just a change of carpet and drapes?

FYI GRANDEUR OF THE SEAS has already completed the revitalization process a couple months ago. Search for "Grandeur of the Seas revitalization" on YouTube and there is even a video released by Royal Caribbean.

You can see the timeline and details for all the Royal Caribbean revitalizations at this link:

I'm going back on the Grandeur next October - this was also my first cruise ship and I remember the pre-renovation atmosphere. It wasn't bad, exactly, but it was very sedate and quiet. Looking at the video on RCI's website, I get the sense that it's going to look and feel COMPLETELY different.

I LOVE the idea of the aerial entertainment. I could seriously sit there and look at that all day long.

And I'm happy that they're also bringing some extra dining options aboard. REALLY excited for Izumi - I'm an Asian cuisine/sushi FANATIC and I have a bad feeling I'm going to drop some serious money in there.

The poolside movies are going to be extra fun!

I can't wait to see what the changes have wrought. The first cruise was okay, but I have a feeling that this second one is going to be a lot more exciting for me.

The Grandeur has already gone through it's major refit this year. Most people have been giving it high marks and enjoying the new features.

Are there features on Grandeur that would interest teens (boys specifically) I did not see golf, sports court or such and am concerned that my teen will be bored on sea days (he's not a lounge by the pool konda guy). Anyone have any experience recently with this ship and teens?

I think if your son prefers the more energetic activities, one of the larger ships would be more suitable. Grandeur does however have a rock climbing wall, but that isn't exactly something you will spend hours doing, and the novelty wears off after a while.

Thanks-that was my fear. He has sailed Maj and will be on Jewel in Dec but was hoping to be able to book out of Baltimore next summer. I guess will have to look into the NJ/NY cruises instead.
