beachseasand Posted August 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2012 Since they are now leaving from Port Canavarel and returning to Tampa on the Legend Cruise due to Hurricane Issac. Does this mean that people who were planning on going with just a birth certificate and ID are no longer on a closed end cruise? Would you have to have a Passport? Curious only does not affect me. But this may be a problem for others.
The4Cruisers Posted August 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2012 There may be some sort of asterisk since Carnival IS bringing the passengers back to Tampa (just without the ship).
beachseasand Posted August 26, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted August 26, 2012 Thanks so people will go thru customs there? This is proablly just going to motivate me to get passports finally. My last child turned 17 so now we will most likely just go ahead and get the passports anyway.
cherylandtk Posted August 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2012 In this sort of unplanned deviation the cruise line obtains an exception from immigration and/or permission to transport pax back to the port of origin by land.
beachseasand Posted August 26, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted August 26, 2012 Thanks useful information. One thing these poor passangers dont need to worry about right now. Was just wondering, I have never seen this type of thing before. I am sure it has happened I just was never aware.
