laginog Posted May 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2005 Has anyone tried using a laptop with an aircard while on an Alaska cruise? My DH will need to be in contact with work while we're gone. His work laptop has a Verizon Aircard and we weren't sure how it will work in comparison to what wireless connection he would get from the ship. I know in Alaska we won't be "far from shore" like in the Caribbean but I didn't know if that would make a difference or not.

bruce-r Posted May 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2005 Read the posts about cell phone service in Alaska. I sure wouldn't count on being able to use a cell phone card to connect if there was poor cell phone coverage. You might be able to use the ship's WiFi network, depending on the ship you sail on. Some of them have wireless internet available in certain areas of the ship.
