Tracking The Elusive Price Drop

Go to the Carnival fare viewer page and put in your information to see if there has been any price drops.

http://www.carnival.com/BookingEngine/FareViewer

If you book through a travel agent, you can still look for the price drop then have the TA call and get it for you. Hopefully you booked early savers and you can get price drops credited up to a couple of days prior to your cruise. If not, you can get the credit up until final payment is due or possibly get an upgrade to another room type depending on the price drop. Good luck.

Exactly as above.

Be aware. Fares on this site are for the cabin before taxes.

Check your paper work for how much the "Fare" part.

Pick all the options you qualify for, Residence, past guest, etc. Then pick any fare and "continue".

Easy as that!

There is also another site, that works for Carnival cruises (doesn't work for ncl cruises :( ) I cannot give you a link to the website, but if google 'cruise genie' you will find it....it's free and will send you an email when cabins on your sailing have a price drop....

My daughter will be on the Elation in December. She has a port hole room. On the fare viewer site it only lists interior, ocean view, balcony and suite. Is port hole considered an ocean view? Thanks.

No, its a PT, which is technically a inside.. but you still need to price match to another PT, not just any inside cabin. If you dont see any more PTs, they are probably sold out. since they are such a good deal that could easily be the case.

You are supposed to price match to ONLY your category .. but if you see a higher category and want to give up the PT and move to a regular inside cabin.. you could do that if insides are cheaper. It would have to be more than a $20 pp to give up my port hole.. but thats me.

Go to the Carnival website and towards the bottom of the home page...where it says Special Offers....click on Early Saver Specials....then click on Price Protection - Learn More....then click on Price Protection Claim form....and then beginning filling in your cruise information.

I hope this helps...the first time trying to find it can be tough :)

Thanks for the help! The port holes must be sold out as it isn't one of the choices left. I'm sure she wouldn't want to give up her port hole inless it was like you said quite a difference.

It is confusing for a first timer! We booked our cruise last minute, so we weren't ES (though we did have a $19 @ OBC on our S&S card for some reason). Daughter booked hers months in advance so I was going to check it out for her! Thanks for the help!

Just because she booked in advance, she might not have booked ES rate. I would double check which rate she booked. Her confirmation email should indicate if she has a nonrefundable deposit.. then its ES.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have been reading several threads where people are getting OBC for price drops. I am sailing in feb. I keep checking Carnival booking engine fare view but there is no Early Saver category. Does that mean you don't qualify for price drop if Early Savers isn't listed?
