Do we have to put $1000 down (for our fam of 4) or is it $100? I thought I heard on the Dream it was $100? We know which cruise we want to go on next year, does it even matter? If we book our next cruise, is it the full $1000 deposit (4 in our fam so its $1000)? Or onboard can you just get the future cruise voucher? They can be used towards your next cruise. They have nothing to do with your deposit. You get $100 deducted from the price and you get onboard credit depending on the length of the cruise. Someone correct me if I am wrong. It is easy OBC in my opinion. The $100 goes toward your final payment, not your deposit. In addition you get $$ onboard credit- the amt depends on the length of your cruise. Example: we got $100. OBC (7 day cruise) + the $100 toward our final payment all for the $100. we pd for the FCC. I forgot about it until I got home. Guest services was able to look it up and give me the certificate number. I think the desk to purchase them was near the coffee shop. (or at least they had one two weeks ago and every time we've sailed on her) For everybody's information, the last time I bought a cruise, we had three weeks until sailing. (Pack-and-GO!!! :D ) I paid in full for it, but I gave my PVP the FCV number. $100.00 was credited back to my Visa, and the OBC was properly applied, so that works too. They can only be used on not yet booked cruises. Since you already booked.. the terms say FCCs are not good on them. Some have slide them by.. but lately they are getting tighter on this rule. stupid hillbilly here with a question, can you use two certificates on one room, like can my wife use one and i use another?:confused: One per booking (cabin). No you cannot. I just tried to do this and was denied. You can use them on any cruise that was booked after the purchase date of the FCC. There is a date on the certificate and it is in their computer files. I was able to apply it to a cruise i have booked but this was only because the date I booked the cruise was after the date I bought the certificate. They have a desk in the hall past the coffee shop where the elephants stick out from the wall. Make sure you have a debit or credit card attached to your account or you can't buy one. We had just brought cash and left credit card at home it became a problem since you can't buy one with a cash account. Eventually we got a certificate number and just called and put it on the credit card when we got home but it took 3 visits to that desk and 2 to customer service to straighten it out. They do this because they are refundable, and they want to be able to just refund your card if you want one refunded. No company wants to send checks thru the mail which can get lost in the mail. It will always appear as a separate charge on your credit card account. What you describe .. buying it with your credit card separately is exactly how that poster did it. Just out of luck? So the benefit is that you buy a FCC for $100; you can use the $100 towards final payment on your next cruise AND you get $100 of OBC to be used on the future cruise. Right? About 3 or 4 days later my certificate was processed and then my booking was officially in the system. Prior to the FCC being processed my booking was officially on hold. I hadn't read any threads here about it (gasp!) and when I called to book and asked how to use the certificate that's what she told me to do (didn't mention using it for final payment or mailing it) Sooooo, if one isn't on these boards they really wouldn't know that was a risk. The only way I figured out I wasn't officially booked was that my booking details arrived days later. But, I do know for sure when I went online my cabin didn't come up as available (even before I was official) Has someone gotten cancelled while certificate was processing?
