Curacao - Hotel Day Passes

We love Curacao and have many great visits there but I've drawn a blank as to Marriott and Hilton hotels.

I read on the ports of call board that those hotels offer purchase of day passes for use of their beach and facilities and I cannot place their location. :o

I asked on the Curacao board but got no response so came here to ask........

Can anyone describe their location in relation to Rif Fort docks?

Thanks.

The Curacao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino is in Pescadera Bay, NW of Willemstad on John F. Kennedy BLVD.

The Hilton Curacao Resort appears to be right on the harboe in Willenstad.

There's also a Renaissance Resort & Casino (still managed by Marriott?) at the tip of the Otrabanda in Willenstad.

Thank you, Dave. I think that is what I am looking for as there was reference to the Marriott and Hilton being near each other. Apparently the Renaissance used to be a Marriott. When we sometimes have dinner on the harbor, we look across at a hotel but never saw the name (or noticed) and that must be the Hilton.

Thank you for the map, KK. Without any hotel names on it, I can't determine what any of their hotel icons mean.

Has anyone here done a day pass at one of these hotels during a stop in Curacao?

I think this stay I might like to shop early in the morning and then spend some time at a nice hotel using their pool/beach/facility. Come back to the ship, change and go back ashore for nice dinner seeing the ship will sail late.

Click onto the icons and the hotel name appears and it will tell you how far the hotel is away.

Now that I know where these hotels are, I think we'll pass.

The beaches there aren't very wide and the water has strong currents. We've looked out over that area and I don't think it appeals to me so much.

Thanks for the help.

We did have a day pass several years ago. We think it was the Hilton. Beautiful hotel and pool area with a restaurant by the pool. The day pass included lunch and by the time we bought lunch it paid for itself. However, the beaches were small.

Two years ago we went to Aquarium Beach in Curacoa. We stopped at the Acquarium and walked down past several different beaches till we came to the one the guide told us to go to. It was very nice with a restaurant and rest rooms. The cab picked us up there and we could have been dropped off there but didn't know. If you're interested, I'll get the right name of the beach.

Correction: We think the Hilton was in Barbados.

Hmmm, that sounds interesting, Carol.

Maybe I'll reconsider about the Hilton. It's easy to get there. I don't think we've ever been in that hotel and haven't seen the pool area. I think I'll go look for a website for them.

Thanks. :)

Judy, I corrected myself with an edit at the end of the post above. Sam says that Hilton was in Barbados. You're correct that the hotel beaches in Curacoa are small and not user friendly.

Ahhh, Thanks, Carol.

We actually have been to the Hilton and its beach in Barbados. It's been years but I remember it being very floral grounds and very nice.

Appreciate the correction.

We spent a day at the Hyatt Regency in Aruba several years ago and liked it a lot.

We must be following you around or vice versa....... :)

We spent eight days at that Hyatt about 10 years ago and loved it. We had a fabulous vacation there and I'd do it again without hesitation if I heard the hotel was still nice.

That beach was gorgeous!!!

You are welcome.

We went to a beach a number of years ago on Curacao.

Too many rocks and little sand -- both on the beach and in the water.
