Rare Host Kat Posted September 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2012 Oh wow, that's a long time for a drydock. Galveston Historical Foundation Initiates Second Restoration Of 1877 ELISSA, Official Tall Ship Of Texas By Galveston.com on September 8, 2012 Remember, she's over 135 years old and will have a "butt lift" & "dermabrasion" on her bottom, "face lift" on her deck, and new "one-of-a-kind designer" fabric for her sails. That's a lot of "plastic surgery" and a new "designer ensemble" for a "lady of a certain age". She deserves to be youthful again with a rejuvenation and a complete costume of harmonizing or complementary clothing & accessories at her age... but it will take a while. Galveston Cruiser Posted September 25, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2012 GHF is going to try to get her back to her berth by Dickens on the Strand, 1st weekend in December. However, she will not be sailing until June as her deck will be replaced while at her berth in Galveston.
