ncl star breaks free and hits explorer

So scary. My thoughts and prayers are with people aboard both ships. OP also posted on NCL board that there's been 2 ferries bringing people from Star back into port at Dockyard.

No one is being ferried. It says two tug boats are being used to push the star back into berth.

When those lines snap there is enough forcegenerated to kill a person.......

So lucky there were no injuries.......

That is why I always hate to see people sitting on the big ropes which hold the ship to the dock while taking pictures.........

And you often see officers chasing people away from those lines....they can decapitate a person.

I always walk as far away as possible.......

Absolutely. DH is a retired US Navy Captain. He is always very wary of the lines when we walk by, especially when it is windy. People have been killed by snapping lines. They ricochet and snap around since there is tension on them to begin with. You wouldn't want to see what those lines can do to a person. You will never see DH and I hanging around the lines. Yes, people have been decapitated and cut in two by them.

I was referring to a post by Sue who is currently on the Ex and stated that people were being ferried. Not the article you quoted.

We're on Explorer as well... it really was a pretty light bump.

We were in the WJ having lunch and watched the NCL ship drift over toward us... we were prepared for the impact, but didn't get hit by as much force as we expected.

Hopefully they had enough notice over there to get everyone off their gangways... everyone over here should be absolutely fine.

The captain just announced that we will be leaving just a little bit late. We didn't sustain any damage, but the Pilot that was going to be escorting us is over assisting the NCL ship and we have another on the way from Hamilton. It sounds like we'll be leaving about 30 minutes late.

Another CCer emailed me and said that the moorings for the NCL ship snapped in the high winds...that ship dropped anchor, some pax were still on shore, and that the NCL ship's anchor may be stuck..

EX is awaiting another pilot-the one they had went over to the NCL ship...and that once the pilot arrives and all inspections are done they will sail. She suggested that there is about a 4 foot dent on the NCL, but was not sure about EX as they can't see...

(again, that's a summary of the email i just got...)
