Rare Scrapnana Posted October 18, 2013 #15 Share Posted October 18, 2013 I collect Christmas ornaments from the ships. If I find an ornament in a port that was actually made there (not in China, etc.), I collect those as well. Both my daughter and I collect fridge magnets. skipsaur Posted November 3, 2013 #16 Share Posted November 3, 2013 Mugs - we get them from places that are special and try to find interesting/unique-looking ones. They're usually pretty cheap (<$10) and you'll always find a large selection of them to browse through and they're useful, not just things that'll sit and collect dust. We have a growing, very mismatched collection and we're coffee/tea drinkers, so we use them a lot. It makes your day instantly happier when you grab a cup that triggers fun vacation memories and it's easy to rotate through them. They each have their own stories. badtwin Posted February 4, 2014 #19 Share Posted February 4, 2014 Flags from port countries - to use as outdoor party decorations. I really like Greece and the Catalonian flag from Barcelona. Small prints or nice notecards of local attractions, small enough to transport without wrinkles or get one with a cardboard tube. Framed and hung on the wall I am reminded of the cruise every day. Small pieces of local folks art provided it is not made in China (unless of course I actually get to China) I also save every scrap of paper - tourist maps, ticket stubs, brochures, placemats or clean napkins, luggage tags - for my scrapbook. And I save other flattish items that might work - like gelato spoons.
