zuggie Posted September 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2012 We are booked in 8058 it is partially obstructed, does anyone know how obstructed it is ? We just departed the Jewell (sister ship to the Brilliance) and had cabin 8052. I believe the obstruction is the the cover over the life boats on deck 6. So you can't look directly straight down at the water. You have to look a little over the cover. So you can't see what is directly below you in the water against the ship. but you can see everything about fifteen feet out. Not at all a problem for us. cb at sea Posted September 19, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2012 Actually, it's an overhead platform...it really obstructs NOTHING...no worries! Window washing equipment has to go somewhere....and that's one of the stations! We had the same thing in 1098....I was worried for nothing! The lifeboats are below EVERY side cabin...and you will cease to notice them quickly!
mjldvlks Posted September 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2012 8058 and 8060 are listed as patially obstructed on all the Radiance class ships. Here is a picture of Jewel with the balcony for 8058 circled. It indeed appears the window washing/maintenance ladder is stored between 8058 and 8060. Doesn't appear to be a big deal. We spent a week in 8654 on Radiance, same class of ship and cabin, but opposite side and aft of the hump. We thought the cabin was great.
