Carol & Jim Posted September 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2012 We are spending two night post cruise in Rome and have a concern about getting from our hotel in Rome to the airport in time to catch a very early morning, 6 am, flight, should it be a concern? And, would we be better off to stay our last night in a hotel by the airport? I'm thinking if we take a tour of Rome that day, maybe we could take our luggage with us and make the return to the airport hotel? Thanks for any suggestions. euro cruiser Posted September 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2012 There's no need to uproot for that last night. You can get a cab or a car service to get you to the airport. A flight that early is likely within the Schengen zone, so you don't need to be at the airport more than 90 minutes prior to the flight. Even so, that means leaving Rome at 4 AM in order to be at the airport by 4:30, so I'd reserve either a car or a cab in advance. By the way, don't be surprised if the check in desks aren't open yet if you arrive at 4:30 ...
Rare cruisemom42 Posted September 23, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2012 It's not a problem to stay in the city (and it's more fun). Best to arrange a taxi in advance through your hotel, or arrange a private car if that's what you want to do.
saneil Posted September 23, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 23, 2012 Whenever we stay in Rome we always have the hotel arrange a car for us, it is worth it to get to the airport stress free.
