Getting to Rome Airport

Carol & Jim

Recommended Posts

We are spending two night post cruise in Rome and have a concern about getting from our hotel in Rome to the airport in time to catch a very early morning, 6 am, flight, should it be a concern? And, would we be better off to stay our last night in a hotel by the airport? I'm thinking if we take a tour of Rome that day, maybe we could take our luggage with us and make the return to the airport hotel? Thanks for any suggestions.

There's no need to uproot for that last night. You can get a cab or a car service to get you to the airport. A flight that early is likely within the Schengen zone, so you don't need to be at the airport more than 90 minutes prior to the flight. Even so, that means leaving Rome at 4 AM in order to be at the airport by 4:30, so I'd reserve either a car or a cab in advance.

By the way, don't be surprised if the check in desks aren't open yet if you arrive at 4:30 ...
