ShannonSto Posted September 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2012 Wow! What a week! I've never sailed RCCL before, but have wanted to since Oasis debuted in 2009. I booked through Card Player Magazine's Poker Cruises web site. Let me just say, Oasis of the Seas, and RCCL, did not disappoint. Wonderful experience start to finish! NOTE: If you're looking for info on shopping or shows, you're outta luck; I don't do either one. But if you wanna know about casinos, poker, or travelling with young children, pull up a chair. I sailed with my Mom, my 3 year old twin daughters, one of whom is autistic, and a couple of family friends. I was a bit concerned about travelling with Erin, but with assistance from Autism on the Seas, we all had a lot of fun. EMBARKATION: Piece of cake. Had priority embarkation through Autism on the Seas, but we didn't use it as we didn't need. We arrived around 1130 and were on board within 15 minutes of pulling into the parking lot. ACCOMODATIONS: D4 oceanview balcony, 8666. Bed by the closet. It was small, but workable enough for us. Gotta go for a minute, but will post so I don't get timed out again... Rare Familygoboston Posted September 23, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2012 She's adorable and impossible to ignore! So glad you had a good cruise! I'm so impressed by the Autism at Sea program, we've seen many kids and young adults on the spectrum sailing and it's so great to have special accomodations for both the kids and just so parents and caregivers can actually relax too- not worrying about " how are we gonna manage this?". We have a group started in my town that is all focused on providing vacation opportunities for families with children who have special needs, because if anyone needs a vacation... I'm always happy to support them, this years big project were several beach wheel chairs stationed at various MA beaches that families could " borrow " from the town to get their kids onto the beach. So I'd love to hear more about the AAS program! So the big ?- did ya win anything ;)
