Hurricane Miriam

Miriam's projected track looks like it will throw a block right into the path of the Pearl's repo PC cruise. The Pearl leaves San Pedro on Fri afternoon and she and Miriam are both due to cross paths halfway down the Baja on Sat. One or the other is going to have to give. Doubt if it's going to be Miriam. Might make for some choppy Pearl waters for a bit of the cruise. A wide detour around Miriam might make for a late Cabo arrival.

The new projection is looking much better for the Pearl's path. The new projection shows Miriam turning east toward Baja shore sooner and has it about 2/3rds down the Baja peninsular and almost on shore by Sat. morn 8am. The Pearl will still be considerably north of that position then. And, at that point, it is down to a tropical storm only with 40 - 50 mph winds. Looking better. Otherwise, that area then will be hot, humid, with daily scattered thunderstorms, typical weather for this time of the year.

Latest projection. The track has changed. Rather than a turn to the east, she tracks straight north, but by Saturday morning is only a low pressure system with winds 35 mph and decreasing. Based on this, the Pearl would pass through this low with winds 35 or less and maybe sail to the east side of the pressure center. Not too bad.

Ok. For you Pearl PC repo folks, it gets better and better. Miriam has almost come to a halt far off shore Baja. Her projected track is now to the northwest and stays well off the Baja, and she is rapidly dying down to a low with just 25 -30 mph winds. If nothing changes, the Pearl will be well east of her influence while cruising down the Baja peninsular. Cabo Sunday is 87 and sunny. PV on Monday 93 and scattered thunderstorms.
