Checking the Bill

Check the bill carefully. It's not uncommon to find incorrect charges on your statement. The front desk is pretty good about getting those removed. If I find an error after returning home, an email to HAL has straightened out the problem.

Once on a Princess Cruise to the Mediterranean, I reviewed my bill on the last day and found that I had been overcharged by $500 or $600. Apparently, they added the billing from another stateroom onto my bill. They seemed a little suspicious when I disputed the bill. I had to insist that I did not know the other passengers and had not authorized the billing to my account. The front office corrected my bill but I think that they were worried that the other passengers had already checked out, left the ship and hadn't been charged for their shipboard expenses.

The Front desk has always been good about giving me a copy of our account. I check it every few days to keep up to date. We do mostly long cruises so it is important to me to keep on top of it. ie 42 days on Maasdam and 74 on Rotterdam ... next one is 88 days on Rotterdam in Jan so will continue to monitor my account closely.
