AlaskaGolden Posted September 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2012 I believe Spain is considered Western Europe. Sure hope things calm down and stay that way before many of cruise to both Spain and Greece later this year and next.
coolbluegreenseas Posted September 26, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted September 26, 2012 Yes, Spain is Western Europe, but I was thinking Greece when I posted, ergo the Eastern Europe.
b&wcruiser Posted September 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Spain and Greece are considered South Europe, Eastern Europe is Poland, Russia and more of those countries.

odysee Posted September 27, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Spain and Greece are considered South Europe, Eastern Europe is Poland, Russia and more of those countries. I think we can excuse the orginal poster as he is not European and especially since the Celebrity cruises to Greece are listed as "Eastern Mediterranean". ariawoman Posted September 27, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Hopefully my 4 ports in spain in 2 weeks won't be disrupted. :( Was in athens at this time last year, so I'm glad to not be going near there again this year. Ugh. Sad world we are all living in.
coolbluegreenseas Posted September 27, 2012 Author #10 Share Posted September 27, 2012 If you would like to get specific: Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country in Southeast Europe. Athens is the capital and the largest city in the country. The population of the country, according to the 2011 census preliminary data, is about 11 million. cruisinclined Posted September 28, 2012 #11 Share Posted September 28, 2012 As a European and frequent cruiser there you would he extremely unlucky to run into any trouble. A booked tour would normally be able to bypass any protest. Such protests are sporadic and usually in capital cities like Madrid. Don't worry about Europe..it's the recession and some people are feeling the effects of governments reining in public spending. Cruisers are shielded from these things and ships give sound advice. Come to Europe you will not regret it!
